opis:
The gangster Colorado kidnaps Marshal McKenna. He believes that McKenna has seen a map which leads
to a rich vein of gold in the mountains and forces him to show him the way. But they're not the only
ones who're after the gold; soon they meet a group of "honorable" citizens and the cavalry crosses
their way too - and that is even before they enter Indian territory.
Akcja filmu rozgrywa się w 1872 roku w Arizonie. Szeryf Mackenna (Gregory Peck) wpada w zasadzkę
zastawioną przez wodza Apaczów. W czasie walki szeryf ciężko go rani. Tuż przed śmiercią Indianin
powierza mu starą mapę Doliny Złota, gdzie znajduje się legendarny skarb Apaczów. Po dokładnym zapoznaniu
się z mapą, Mackenna niszczy ją. Wkrótce potem zostaje schwytany przez groźnego bandytę Colorado (Omar Sharif),
który więzi córkę miejscowego sędziego. Jeżeli szeryf nie zaprowadzi go do Doliny Złota, dziewczyna zginie.
